Do you want to take a vacation? Do you have to travel? Are you worried about what to do with your pets? Many people simply dont go away at all because they find it difficult to leave their furry babies at a kennel or with a family member or friend.
My name is Darlene and I live in New Port Richey, Florida. I have lived here since 1991 and I have been a professional pet sitter since February of 2001. I would love to give you peace of mind while you travel and give personalized, loving care to your "babies".
There are two services that I provide. The first is that I can come to your home if you live within 6 miles of my home and make regular visits to your pets. I come to your home so that you are able to leave your pet in familiar surroundings. I will give them fresh water and food, as well as exercise and play during each visit. I will also give any medication your pet may require.
I'm happy to keep an eye on your home and bring in the mail and newspaper. I will alternate lights, open and close blinds and water your house plants. I will do whatever I can to give your home a lived in look.
I am licensed and insured, and my charges are based on the type and number of pets you have and the number of visits made.
If you prefer, I also offer my home to some pets. You can "board" your pet in a family environment while you travel. Unfortunately, at this time I can only take caged pets and dogs in my home. Dogs must get along well with other dogs, be up-to-date on vaccines and be spayed or neutered. I insist on meeting each and every dog that stays with me and observing them with my dog to be sure that they are well socialized.
I'm confident that you'll find my rates fair and comparable to that of local boarding facilities, but instead your pet will be loved as a member of my family while you're away.
While I do have crates available for dogs that must be crated when left alone in the house or at night, the dogs that stay with my family have run of the house just as they would at home. They are allowed on all of the furniture. They can lie on the sofa or sleep in one of our beds, whatever needed to make them comfortable while they are apart from their families. Most dogs feel very comfortable with my family and any of the other dogs staying with us and are excited to see us when they stay again and again.
I can only take a small number of pets at one time to keep from becoming like the traditional boarding facilities, so please make your reservations soon! On an average day I usually only have a few dogs stay with us, but on holidays I quickly reach the maximum number I can reasonably care for and will be unable to accommodate some families wishing to have their dog stay with us. In that situation I will only be able to make visits to those close by or they may have to find someone else to care for their pet. I try to do all that I can to make sure no family is without care for their pet.
